Training Log

Now that the prospects are good that I will be doing at least some degree of racing this season, I thought it would be a good idea to start keeping track of my workouts again. In the past, I have been a meticulous record-keeper... especially when gearing up for a big race.

While traveling, however, it is not only more difficult to remember when I go for a run, how many minutes or miles, etc., but it is also usually a challenge to classify each activity as either run or hike, paddle or boat-drag, bike or hike-a-bike. I am usually charting unknown terrain and sometimes doing so at a leisurely pace with others, which adds other elements to the mix and makes the outing totally worth-while, but at the same time, kind of problematic. So, I'll do my best to keep track, but am not going to put the pressure on to structure anything I do here. I just want to stay fit and have fun!

That said, this is roughly what I got in this past week:

S - rest
M - run 1 hr
T - run 1 hr / bike 1 hr
W - bike :30
R - run 1:20
F - bike 1:30 / run :35
S - bike 4:30

Total: run 3:55 / bike 7:30

March 22 - 29:

S - rest
M - driving
T - hike 3 hrs
W - lazy
R - bike 5 hrs
F - bike 4 hrs
S - run :30

Total: hike 3 hrs / run :30 / bike 9 hrs

All workouts are measured by time in motion and I'll usually try to stretch with a few sit-ups and push-ups at the end.
